The Healthy Club Committee will be organising our participation in the Goal Mile on St Stephens Day. This has now become an annual event with much needed funds being raised for Goal. The walk will take place at 11.00AM and you can register at Register - GOAL Mile 2025 where you can order your t-shirt for the event.

The annual dinner dance will take place on Sunday 1^st Feb which is the Bank Holiday weekend. This promises to be a fantastic night with the presentation of Championship and League medals to the all conquering Senior Men's team with our Senior Ladies runners up in the Junior A championship.

The winner of last weeks 50/50 was Lauren Quinn who won €939.

Well done to Leanne Galvin, part of the Sligo ATU team who won the Ladies Div 3 Quill Cup final last week against UCD2.

Our Men on the Move finished up during the week with a gruelling final challenge in the wind and the rain. Thanks to all who participated and especially the organisers Frank Quinn and Paul Brennan and to Vinnie Boyd and Paul Higgins who helped with the sessions.

We held our Bord Ná Nóg AGM last week and the following officers were elected. Chairperson; Enda Candon, Vice Chairperson; Michael Tonry, Secretary; Michelle McMorrow and Coaching Officer; Angela O'Connor.

We also held our Senior Bord AGM on Sunday at which Chairperson, Andy Kearns and Secretary, Paul Brennan gave comprehensive overviews of the activities of the club over the last year while Mary Quinn presented the financial report for the year. The full list of officers will be published next week.

The winners of our September monthly members draw were: Mary Quinn, Sean McDonagh, Tommy Deignan with Lauri Quinn and John Quinn winning entries into the 50/50 draw. The October winners were: Donie Quinn, Naomh Quinn, Carmel Tuohy while Gus Chapman and Noel Benson won entries to the 50/50 draw. The November draw winners were: Enda O'Connell, Michael Brennan and Angela O'Connor while Rachel Boyd and Noel Benson won entries into the 50/50 draw. We also held a special Christmas draw and the winners were: Gavin McMorrow, Eoin O'Connell and Ciaran Garry.

The Bord Ná Nóg AGM takes place this Tuesday 25th at 8.00PM in the clubhouse. We would encourage all members to attend, especially parents as we reflect on the year gone by and start the work of preparing for the year ahead.

The Senior AGM takes place next Sunday 30th in the Clubhouse at 7.00PM - all members are invited to attend and nominations for all club positions are now open and can be submitted to the secretary, Paul Brennan by close of business on Friday 28th.

The long awaited 50th Anniversary Book was launched to much fanfare in the Clayton Hotel on Saturday night. The night kicked off with music from two of our Scor stars, Chloe McCann and Niamh Kennedy with Paul Brennan acting as MC while interviewer Padraig McKeon did a great job in helping a host of panel members relive some of the stories from the last fifty years. The book, edited by Chairperson, Andy Kearns and published in two volumes is a comprehensive account of all the highs and lows since 1972 and is a must have for anyone who has ever had any connection with the club. We will also have dedicated times over the next few weeks where we will sell through our pop up shop in Boyd's Riverstown. Keep on eye on social media for dates and times. The winner of our competition for a free book on the night was Padraig Killoran.

What can be said about Johnny Kenny that has not already been said? What an achievement to get your first international Senior cap in the cauldron of a crucial World Cup qualifying match with so much at stake and to win in dramatic fashion makes it all the more memorable and special. Congratulations to Johnny, a proud week for him, his family, Arrow Harps and the whole community and we look forward to the next chapter.

Well done to Niamh Kennedy who won the Solo Singing at Scór Na Nóg at the weekend. She now goes forward to the Connacht finals on November 29th. Hard luck to our Quiz team of Joseph O'Connor, Josh McTiernan, Charlie King and Diarmuid Duffy.

The Gaels made their exit from the Connacht Championship after a disappointing 1-20 to 1-9 loss to Moycullen in Tubbercurry on Sunday. The Gaels performance never reached the heights of their championship campaign and while we never held the lead, we were still well in the game with fifteen minutes to go, but a strong last quarter from Moycullen saw them run out deserving winners. We wish them the best of luck in the rest of the campaign. We will be launching our eagerly awaited 50th anniversary history book this Saturday evening in the Clayton Hotel at 7.00PM. The book is currently under lock and key and will be revealed on the night at a special celebration with guests who will share their memories of the first 50 years. This is a must have for anyone who has played or been involved in any way with the Gaels and will be available for purchase on the night. Edited by Club Chairperson, Andy Kearns, it is a limited production run with a huge amount of content covering all aspects of the club running to over 1,200 pages published in two volumes. The launch on Saturday is free to attend and all are welcome.

Congratulations to Michelle McMorrow who has been nominated as 'Volunteer of the Year' award for the Ocean FM Sports awards which take place on November 22^nd in the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa. This is well deserved recognition for Michelle for her huge dedication and work she does for the club.

After the highs of last week, it is back to business next Sunday with the Senior team taking on the Galway champions, Moycullen in the first round of the Connacht Championship. The game is in Tubbercurry at 1.30PM, let's get out and support the team as we continue the journey.

It is now just two weeks to our long awaited publication of our 50th anniversary book which will be launched in the Clayton Hotel on Saturday 15^th at 7.00PM and the book will be available for sale on the night. All are welcome.

Congratulations to Arrow Harps FC on the celebration of their 50th anniversary with a very enjoyable gala dinner in Kilronan Castle last weekend. The club was founded in 1975, three years after the Gaels and both clubs have a proud record of providing a sporting outlet for the youth of the area for half a century with both clubs thriving alongside each other. It was great to see old and young celebrate the event with many familiar faces returning for the event.

It has been a special year for the club with our Senior team completing the League and Championship double with a comprehensive 2-11 to 0-8 win over Coolera/Strandhill in the final replay on Sunday. In a dogged first half with scores at a premium, the Gaels turned on the style in the second half and never looked like losing once we got three quick points in the second half. Well done to Shane King and his management team of Alan Doherty, Pat McTiernan, Keith McMorrow, Kitman, Hilary Lyons, S&C, Joe Quinn and all the backroom team. Hard luck to Coolera/Strandhill who have been great ambassadors for Sligo GAA in winning the Connacht Final last year. While there are many people to thank, we have to acknowledge all of the club members, coaches and players who have worked for so many years to achieve the ultimate goal of winning the Owen B Hunt - it has finally arrived and we hope everyone enjoys the celebrations. Thanks also to Enniscrone/Kilglass GAA Club for their excellent hosting of both games, we appreciate the huge volunteer effort that goes into hosting the games. The build up starts again for the Senior Championship replay which takes place next Sunday at 3.00PM in Enniscrone.

The club pop-up shop has been restocked and will be re-opened next Friday and Saturday, keep an eye on social media for times.

Last week we were awarded Healthy Club Gold Status at a function in Connacht GAA in Bekan. Healthy Club Committee members, Marina Swann and Majella Muldowney accepted the award on behalf of the club from Chair of the National Health and Wellbeing Committee, Carmel Kenny and Connacht GAA President Vincent Neary.

Well done to our U16 Girls who won the A Championship with a 3-5 to 1-6 win over St Molaise Gaels. St Molaise raced into an early lead with a goal and two points before Penny Barlow got a great individual goal to settle the Gaels into the game after ten minutes. The teams were evenly matched for the rest of the half with scores hard to come by and the Gaels went in at halt time one point down on a scoreline of 1-3 to 1-2. St Molaise Gaels got the first score of the second half, however a goal from Sophie Edwards put the Gaels ahead after five minutes and when Sophie got her second goal ten minutes later, the Gaels never looked back and finished the game strongly to earn a deserved win. The team was: Abbie McTiernan, Grainne McDermott, Aalessha Sweeney, Rachel Mullaney, Molly Kearns Chapman, Ava Lyons, Rebecca Garry (0-1), Penny Barlow (1-1), Katie Gilligan, Clodagh Galvin, Aisling Dwyer (0-3), Leah Coleman, Roisin Kelly, Sophie Edwards (2-0), Siofra Duignan. Subs used: Alice Foley, Eva Callaghan. Thanks to coaches, Majella Muldowney, Vincent Dwyer and Miranda Hannon for their work with the team this year, great to finish the year with a county A title.

The Senior Men will have to do it all again in the Senior Championship after a dramatic last gasp two pointer from David Quinn to draw the game 2-16 to 3-13. In an exciting game, despite getting of to a great start with a goal from Dillon McDermott and a '45 from Lee Deignan, the Gaels found themselves trailing at half time 1-10 to 1-5 after a fortunate Coolera/Strandhill goal on the stroke of half time. Playing with the aid of the wind in the second half a much improved performance saw the Gaels have three goal chances saved by man of the match, Keelan Harte in the Coolera/Strandhill goals. David Quinn then stepped up to score a re-taken penalty before adding the two pointer to give the Gaels a deserved draw. The team was: Daniel Lyons, Oisin Conlon, Evan Lyons, Karl McKenna, Ciaran Kenny, Conor Sheridan, Sean Carroll, George Barlow, Dillon McDermott, David Quinn, Lee Deignan, Patrick Kenny, Johnny Quinn, Shane Deignan, James Foley. Hard luck to our Senior Ladies who lost the Junior A Championship final to Curry on a scoreline of 2-9 to 0-10 in Ballymote on Sunday. Playing with the aid of a strong breeze in the first half, the Gaels were unable to make it count on the scoreboard and went in at half time 0-5 to 0-2 up. Two quick Curry goals in the second half gave the Gaels a mountain to climb against the breeze, however the Gaels fought bravely and never gave up until the final whistle but found it difficult to get the scores against a resolute Curry defence. Congrats to Curry and the best of luck in the Connacht Championship. A number of today's team now turn their attention to a third final in two weeks when our U16 Girls take on St Molaise Gaels in the U16 A Final in Grange at 10.30AM on Sunday morning. Please come out and support the team.

Next Sunday, the Gaels are back in the Senior Championship final after a wait of 31 years against last years champions, Coolera/Strandhill. The game throws in at 3.30PM in Enniscrone and will be preceded by the U17 final. Get the flags and bunting out this week and we look forward to seeing a big turnout next Sunday to cheer on the team. As part of the build up to the game, Ocean FM will be broadcasting 'The Final Whistle' live from McDermotts, Castlebaldwin this Thursday 9th from 8-9PM with special guests. The event is free and all are welcome to participate in the match build up.

Team of the week goes to the U13 Division 3 girls who had a great win in the Cup final against Drumcliffe/Rosses Point on a scoreline of 5-7 to 2-7. While the Gaels led by eight points at half time a strong second half performance from Drumcliffe/Rosses Point saw them score a quick 2-1 to bring the game back to one point. It left for an exciting finish with the Gaels scoring two late goals to secure the win. The panel was: Millie Wilkinson, Lucy Barkey, Clodagh Galvin, Kayla Barrett, Shauna McTiernan, Lexi Mullaney, Victoria Barlow, Leah McManus, Sophie Potter, Aoife Garry, Àlainn McMorrow, Alana McHugh, Siofra Gildea, Alanna McGoldrick, Emily Jinks, Eleni Schton Kerr, Lilly Ryan, Zoe Scanlon, Aoife Quigley, Shannen Cassidy. Thanks to their coaches, Thomas Galvin, Nadine Barrett and Ciaran Garry for all their work with the girls this year. Great to be able to field two U13 girls teams again this year.

The Senior Ladies play Curry in the Junior A final next Sunday 5th in Ballymote at 1.30PM.

The U18 girls came up short against a strong Curry side in the U18 A final last Friday. The girls were unable to get a hold of the game even after long periods of possession against fast paced opposition. The team was: Hannah Hargadon, Leah Mullaney, Leanne Galvin, Marisa Hamilton, Ava Lyons, Aoibhinn Conlon, Molly Kearns Chapman, Ciara Gilligan, Katie Gilligan, Hannah Rainey, Penny Barlow, Aaleasha Sweeney, Isabelle Clancy, Orlaith Scanlon, Aisling Dwyer subs used: Sophia Rose Henry, Hayley Mullaney, Maya Wojciechowska and Clodagh Galvin. Thanks to the girls for all their hard work this year, it was a great achievement to get to an A final with a small panel. This sees the end of underage football for some of the girls who now move up to the senior grade.

The U17 boys lost the B Cup semi-final to Curry on a scoreline of 2-13 to 1-8. The team was Eli Rogers, Conor Feeney, Liam McDermott, Joseph O'Connor, Alan Og Henry, Daniel Kearns, Miceàl Garry, Cruz Lyons, Tadhg Kenny, Eoin Feeney, Fionnàn Duffy, Ethan Médas, Charlie King, Josh McTiernan, Troy Kelly subs: Clive Barlow, David Malone, Dillon Barrett, Rian Conway, Sean Tonry, Diarmuid Duffy, Luke Fitzpatrick and Eoghan Conboy.

The U20 team take on St Johns away on Saturday in the B Championship at 4.00PM.

The Senior Men and Ladies remain unbeaten in this years championship with both teams qualifying for their respective finals at the weekend - get the flags out for what will be an exciting few weeks.

First up were the Senior Men who defeated St Marys 2-15 to 1-14 under the lights in Keash on Saturday evening earning a place in the final against holders and Connacht Champions, Coolera/Strandhill on Sunday 12th October in Enniscrone. In a rip-roaring game, typical of the style of football promoted by the Gaels and St Marys, a strong finish to the first half gave the Gaels the platform for the win. The team was: Daniel Lyons, Karl McKenna, Evan Lyons, Oisin Conlon, Ciaran Kenny, Conor Sheridan, Sean Carroll, George Barlow, Dillon McDermott, Johnny Quinn, Lee Deignan, Patrick Kenny, James Foley, Shane Deignan, David Quinn. Subs: Daniel King for Sean Carroll (inj), David Barlow for D McDermott, Luke Flynn for J Quinn, Seamus Hailstones for K McKenna. Thanks to Eastern Harps for hosting the game with a great atmosphere on the night.

The Senior Ladies secured top place in their group to make the Junior A final with a 4-18 to 2-10 win over Calry/St Joseph's on Sunday morning. The team was: Kate Brehony, Eilis O' Connor, Ava Lyons, Louise Merrick, Katie Gilligan, Aoibhinn Conlon, Naomh Quinn, Ciara Gilligan, Lara Swann, Penny Barlow, Jade Lyons, Nola Eivers, Rachel Boyd, Orlaith Scanlon, Jane Benson. Subs used: Sophia Rose Henry, Aisling Dwyer, and Aaleasha Sweeney. The final is set for Sunday 5th October at a time and venue tbc.

The U18 girls play in the A final on Friday at 8PM under lights against Curry in Curry. All support would be greatly appreciated.

The U17 boys received a walk over against Calry/St Joseph's last Tuesday. This now sees them play Curry in the B1 Cup semi-final next Sunday at 5.00PM in Curry.

The U16 girls played neighbours Eastern Harps in the championship semi-final last Wednesday under lights in Keash. In a high scoring entertaining game the Gaels came out on top with a two point win on a scoreline of 3-15 to 6-4 to book their place in the A final against St Molaise Gaels on Sunday 12th October at 10.30AM in Grange. The team was: Abbie McTiernan, Grainne McDermott, Aaleasha Sweeney, Rachel Mullaney, Molly Kearns Chapman, Ava Lyons, Leah Coleman, Penny Barlow, Katie Gilligan, Rebecca Garry, Aisling Dwyer, Siofra Deignan, Sophie Edwards, Clodagh Galvin, Eva Callaghan, Ella Thompson and Shanara Middleton.

The U13 girls Division 2 side lost 1-9 to 1-3 to a strong Coolera/Strandhill team in the cup semi-final. The team was: Sophie Potter, Lexi Mullaney, Keeva Clancy, Lauren Kearns Chapman, Lola Cunnane, Aimee Mullaney, Sarah Jayne Scanlon, Elyse Medas, Bronagh Conlon, Aoife Garry, Amy Edwards, Kate Jinks, Hollie White, Savannah Cox, Kate Murrin, Niamh Kennedy, Victoria Barlow and Clodagh Galvin. This brings the girls year to an end with some great improvements all over the pitch. While they have no silverware the girls have done brilliantly to reach the Division 2 cup semi-final and U14 cup final.

The U13 Division 3 girls played in their Cup semi-final last Thursday at home and came out winners against Eoghan Rua 2 on a scoreline of 8-9 to 1-7. The team was: Millie Wilkinson, Alana McHugh, Alainn McMorrow, Clodagh Galvin. Aoife Garry, Shauna Mc Tiernan, Lexi Mullaney, Victoria Barlow, Kayla Barrett, Siofra Gildea, Lucy Barkey, Alanna McGoldrick, Leah McManus, Sophie Potter, Eleni Sohtun Kerr, Lilly Ryan, Emily Jinks and Aoife Quigley. Our U11 boys hosted Curry last Tuesday in their final game. Some very entertaining football on display with great passing, scoring and most importantly fun and teamwork. The boys had some well deserved pizza and chips after the game. Thanks to coaches Eithne, PJ, Lisa, Tom and Jessica for all their work with the team this year.

The U11 girls play Ballymote in their final group game of the year on Monday at 6.15PM in Ballymote.

Saturday morning saw our final training session of 2025 for our boys and girls from U6 to U10 and All stars. The sun was shining and we enjoyed a great morning of fun, games and skills to finish up 6 months of coaching. Parents and family members watched on and enjoyed refreshments with the all important visit from the ice cream van to top off a great year. Thanks to all our coaches and volunteers who make such a difference ensuring all the boys and girls have an enjoyable experience learning the game, having fun and getting to represent the club. Thanks also to Eastern Harps who travelled to play our U8 girls.

The winner of last weeks 50/50 draw was Rosaleen Cogan who won €885. This week we celebrate achieving the milestone of €100,000 prizes given out with two minimum jackpots of €1,000.

The U17 boys had a good win over neighbours Geevagh/St Michaels on a scoreline of 2-10 to 0-20. They now play Calry/St Joseph's on Tuesday in Riverstown Park at 6.30PM in the final group game.

The U16 girls had a good win over Owenmore Gaels on a scoreline 2-12 to 2-6. This win sees them finish 3rd in the group and they play Eastern Harps on Wednesday at 7.15PM in Keash in the A semi-final.

The U13 girls Division 2 team play Coolera/Strandhill on Friday at 6.15PM in Riverstown Park in the Cup semi-final while the U13 Division 3 girls play Eoghan Rua 2 on Thursday at 6.15PM at home.

The Senior Team secured their place in the Championship semi-final with a win over Eastern Harps. Despite a lack lustre first half a dominant second half performance saw the Gaels win on a scoreline of 0-15 to 0-9. The Gaels now take on St Marys in the semi-final on Saturday 20th September.

The Junior A team's final group game against St Mary's was postponed to Wednesday 10^th at 6.45PM in St Johns.

The Junior B team take on Coolaney/Mullinabreena in the Championship this Saturday at 5.00PM, venue to be confirmed.

The Ladies came from behind against Curry to maintain their 100% record in the Championship with a great second half performance. The scoreline finished 6-3 to 2-13 with Gaels securing a two point victory. They now play Calry/St Joseph's away in the final group game on Sunday 21st September at 10.30AM.

The U14 girls played Geevagh and St Michaels on Friday last at home in the C Final. After a delayed start the game eventually got underway with the Gaels taking the first score of the game. However the visitors put the ball in the net soon after which saw them lead at halftime on scoreline of 1- 6 to 0-4. The second half proved a tough battle between both sides with the Gaels bringing it back to three points in the closing stages but Geevagh/St Michaels ran out winners on a scoreline of 1-9 to 1-5. Both U13 girls teams continued their good form making it three wins from three in the group stages. The Division 2 girls defeated Tourlestrane 2-6 to 1-6 while the Division 3 team defeated Drumcliffe/Rosses Point 7-3 to 1-7. The Division 2 girls will play St Pats/St Farnans away on Friday and the Division 3 team play Eastern Harps 2 away on Thursday with both games throwing in at 6.30PM.

The U11 and U9 boys enjoyed games against Eastern Harps this week with some very entertaining football on display. The U9 boys play Curry away on Wednesday at 6.30PM.

The G4M&O concluded their season last weekend with the National Blitz in Dublin. The Ladies had a great day of fun, football and plenty of laughs which is exactly what this social group in our club is all about . They will now take a break for the winter months and look forward to seeing new members join in 2026.

A renowned goalkeeper, Noel won a Senior Championship with Sooey in 1959 and played with distinction with Sligo for eight years in the late 50's and 60's also representing Connacht in the Railway Cup. The U12 and U11 girls played their final group go games against Coolera/Strandhill last Friday. These were entertaining games and great to see how much the girls have improved over the last few months playing Go Games.

The Senior team had a narrow one point win over Coolera/Strandhill in the first round of the Championship. Despite an indifferent first half, the Gaels kept in touch and were four behind at half time but a strong second half performance saw the Gaels edge ahead in the closing stages only to be pegged back on the stroke of full time, but a point from Shane Deignan in injury time after a sweeping move gave the Gaels the win. The Senior Men's Junior B team take on Easkey at home next Friday at 7.00PM in the championship.

The Senior Ladies get their championship campaign up and running next Sunday with a home game against St Pats/St Farnans at 10.30AM.

The U18 boys won their final group game against Coolaney/Mullinabreena on a scoreline of 3-11 to 1-9. They now play Calry/St Joseph's away in the Cup semi-final on Tuesday at 7.00PM.

The U18 girls play their first championship game against Curry at home on Wednesday at 6.45PM.

The U15 boys lost to a strong Curry side in their final group game of the championship last Monday. They will now play the amalgamation of Easkey, St Pats and St Farnans next Monday 11th August in the A Shield semi-final.

The Senior Championships get underway this weekend with the Senior team up against County and Connacht Champions, Coolera/Strandhill in Keash at 7.30PM. The Junior team take on Tubbercurry on Monday at 4.00PM in Curry in the Junior A Championship - please come out and support both teams.

G4M&O train every Monday evening 8-9. This is a fun way to socialise while also getting some exercise. All new members welcome no experience required just need to be over 25.

The U10 and U8 girls hosted St John's last Friday at home with some great skills and teamwork on display.

Well done to the Gaels players involved with Sligo last week. The U18 Girls qualified for the All Ireland B Final against Clare with a win over Laois. Well done to Leanne Galvin, vice captain, Ciara Gilligan and Aoibhinn Conlon with Sophia Rose Henry out through injury. Next up was Sligo U16 team who topped their Manning Cup group to reach the knock out phases with a win over Leitrim. Miceál Garry scored two points with Fionnan Duffy and Josh McTiernan also part of the panel.

The Senior Div 1 men's team lost away to Tourlestrane at the weekend. The Gaels were well behind at half time, however a strong second half performance saw the Gaels narrow the gap to two points, but late Tourlestrane points saw them win on a scoreline of 2-12 to 2-6. There is no game next weekend and we play again on Saturday June 7^th against Drumcliffe at home.

The Gaels dominated throughout and were ten points up going into the final quarter but playing into a very strong wind left conditions difficult in the closing stages with Mary's capitalising and closing the gap but the Gaels held on to earn a deserved win. We held a Drug and Alcohol awareness workshop last Monday in partnership with the GAA and the Drug & Alcohol Task Forces. Thanks to coordinator Christina McEleney from Donegal ETB for her very informative talk and to Nadine Barrett and Sligo Folk Park for giving us the use of their facilities and to all who attended the talk.

It is great to be back on the field with full football activity commencing this week and a busy schedule ahead.

The Junior team has a good 3-11 to 2-8 win over Tourlestrane in the Spring League while the Senior team also got off to a winning start with a 1-14 to 0-11 win over Coolera/Strandhill. We are hosting a Drug and Alcohol awareness workshop tomorrow evening, Monday 24^th March, in partnership with the GAA and the Drug & Alcohol Task Forces. The workshop is at 8PM in Sligo Folk Park and is open to parents, coaches and club members who want to support young athletes and their well-being.

Thanks to all who supported what was a great night at our Dinner Dance last Saturday evening. The annual player of the year awards were presented with the Karl Galvin U20 player of the year award going to Daniel King presented by Lisa Galvin on behalf of the Galvin family, the Connolly Family Cup for Junior player of the year went to James Carroll and was presented by Michael Brennan on behalf of the Connolly family. The Vincent Boyd Cup for senior player of the year was presented to Oisin Conlon by Andy Kearns on behalf of the Boyd family. The Davina Duncan Cup for Ladies player of the year went to Isobel Clark. We also made special presentations on the night to former chairperson, Lauri Quinn for his contribution to the Club, Evan Lyons to recognise his selection on the Tailteann Cup in 2024 and Club President Tommy Deignan made a special presentation to Johnny Kenny in recognition of his recent success on the national stage.

The club also wish to express sympathy with the Taaffe family on the passing of Tommy after a long illness. Tommy played with the Gaels in his early days, winning a county minor title in 1973 and an U21 county title in 1975 before going on to play his senior football with the newly formed Ballintogher Club and then St Michaels.

The Gaels participated in the Frank Henry memorial 7-a-side held by Leixlip GAA winning two of their three group games. Thanks to Leixlip GAA for hosting the event in memory of Frank who starred for both of our clubs and for their hospitality on the day.

We held our annual underage Merit Awards last weekend and also presented medals to the U13 Girls Autumn league runners up, U16 Girls Div 1 league shield winners, U15 Boys Div 1 shield winners, U17 Boys Championship shield winners and the U18 Boys league shield winners. The winners of the merit awards were, U10; Rachel Gillogley and Conan Sweeney, U11; Kyron Cox and Lexi Mullaney. U12: Cillian Conboy and Elyse Medas, U13; Karl Barlow and Lauren Orr, U14; Clodagh Galvin, U15; Fionnan Duffy, U16; Sophia Rose Henry, U17; Jack Brehony, U18; Joris Rooney and Ciara Gilligan. The overall winner was Sean Kelly. We also made a special presentation to Leanne Galvin in recognition of winning the Minor B All Ireland and Connacht titles last year. Thanks to Storylab for creating the presentation and thanks to the Kearns' family for their continued sponsorship of these awards.

The club wish to express sympathy with the family and relatives of Peter Joe Henry, Oughterard and formerly of Whitehill, Riverstown. Peter Joe was a great GAA supporter and the Henry family have a long history with not only Shamrock Gaels but also Sooey and Knockalassa. Peter Joe played for both teams and won Foley Cups with both clubs in the late 1960's. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

We have given out just under €44,000 in prize money in 2024 and your support is greatly appreciated in providing vital funds for the running of our club.
