23rd May 2011 Well done to the U16 boys team who won the 'C' League final last Monday with a great win over Drumcliffe/Rosses Point in Kent Park. The Gaels went eight points down after Drumcliffe scored their third goal twenty minutes into the first half but the Gaels fought back and were only trailing by fourpoints at half time. The Gaels put in a storming performance in the second half dominating in all areas and holding Drumcliffe to only one score. They went on to win on a scoreline of 4-7 to 4-2. The team was: Conor Carroll, John Óg Conlon, Cathal McDermott, Brian Candon, Ryan McKenna, Eoin Carroll (25), Liam Tuohy, Daniel Willis (21), Michael Kilkenny (01), Stephen Scanlon, Adrian Whelan, subs Sean Quigley for Adrian Whelan, Daniel Baker and Darragh Lyons. Well done also to the team management of Martin Nealon, Niall Kearns, Philip Kearns and Andrew Nealon. The Junior team had a good 2-10 to 1-7 away win over Geevagh in the league last Friday evening. The team was: Nigel Hargadon, Diarmuid Jinks, James Lyons, Gavin McMorrow, Niall Brennan, Keith Candon, Shane Barry (0-1), Peter Henry (1-0), Eoin McDermott (1-1), Brian Boyd (0-1), David Quinn, Kevin Barry (0-3), Donal Carroll (0-1), Enda Foley (0-2), Ciaran O'Connor (0-1). The Seniors are at home against Tubbercurry this Sunday 29th at 2.30PM. The U12 girls drew 0-6 to 0-6 away to St Pats last Monday. The Boys U14 11-a-side team were beaten 0-18 to 0-7 away to Tubbercurry last Friday. The team was; Stephen Keegan, Conor Heffernan, Conor McGrievy, Paul Harrington, Alan Kelly, Darragh Lyons, Andy Flynn, Enda O'Connell (0-1), Paul Higgins, Caolan Morrisroe (0-3), Aaron Kelly, Darragh Hailstones (0-1), Luke Flynn, Daire Kearns (0-1), Mark Kearns (0-1), Subs: Marc Keegan for D Kearns, Declan Benson for C Heffernan, Daniel Baker for C McGrievy. The 11 a side team play Eastern Harps at home this Friday 27th May at 7.00PM. The U14 Div1 team had a good 1-11 to 1-3 win over Calry/St Josephs last Sunday to top the group. The team was: Stephen Keegan, Declan Benson, Conor Carroll, Paul Harrington, Conor McGrievy, Darragh Lyons, Daniel Baker, Caolan McCann, Paul Higgings (0-1), Marc Keegan (0-1), Caolan Morrisroe (0-4), Darragh Hailstones (1-2), Mark Kearns, Enda O'Connell (0-2), Cian McDermott (0-1). There will be a general clean-up of the Club grounds as well as various odd-jobs around the clubhouse this Wednesday 25th May at 7pm. The longest drive was won by Eoin Carroll while nearest the pin was won by Raymond Barlow - both these prizes were sponsored by Nevada Bobs.
