21st November 2011 The Club wish to express sympathy with the family and relatives of Joe O'Grady, Carrowkeel, Riverstown who died at the weekend. Joe played with Knockalassa for many years playing in Goals in 1951 when they won the Junior Championship with a 2-2 to 1-2 win over Dromard at Ballymote. Club members and former team mates formed a guard of honour at Joe's funeral at the weekend - Ar dheis dé go raibh a anam.
The Bord Ná Nóg Table Quiz was postoned as a mark of respect to Joe O'Grady - it will be re-scheduled for a later date. The position of Manager of the Senior Team is now vacant - anyone interested in the role should contact either Andy Kearns, Vincent Henry or Lauri Quinn - deadline for expressions of interest is before the next club meeting this Friday 25th November
The annual club Mass in memory of deceased members of the club takes place this Friday 25th November at 8.30PM in Gleann Church this Mass will also be offered for former player John Mulvaney formerly of Annaghcarty who died during the summer in Luton, England. John also managed the senior team in the seventies before emigrating to England.
The next Club meeting takes place on Friday 25th November at 9.15PM. Well done to Coola Senior team on winning the the Sligo Senior Schools Championship by defeating Jesus and Mary Enniscrone on a scoreline of 2-11 to 1-9 on Friday night - Dylan Edwards was in stunning form scoring 1-8 of Coola's total.
