17th October 2011 There will be a Bord Na Nog meeting this Friday 21st October at 9.00PM in the Clubhouse followed by a full club meeting at 9PM - all committee members are asked to attend. Well done to the U13's on a great 4-13 to 0-4 win in the Final of the Feile Shield over St Pats last Saturday in Markievicz Park. The team was: Conor Heffernan (capt), Paul Harrington, Mark Collery, Conor McGrievy, Alan Kelly, Cian McDermott, Andy Flynn, Enda O'Connell, Darragh Hailstones (0-4), Marc Keegan (0-1), Daire Kearns (1-3), Karl McKenna (0-2), Conal McCormack (1-2), Daniel Murphy (1-1), Luke Flynn (1-0), Steven Willis, Tomas Little, Niall Higgins, Niall Whelan, Darragh Kelly, Ben Tuohy. Thanks to the team for the great effort they put in this year and thanks also to the Management Team of Enda O'Connell, David Quinn, George Hailstones, Lauri Quinn and Cormac Kearns. The Under 20's turned in a solid performance with a comprehensive home win over St. Mary's in the 'A' Championship on Saturday. The foundations for this victory were laid in the first half. We went into the half-time break ahead on a scoreline of 4-6 to 0-1 and although St. Mary's rallied somewhat in the second half, we kept the scoreboard ticking over and eventually ran out convincing winners on a scoreline of 6-10 to 0-6. It was great to see Donal Byrne back in action for the Gaels on Saturday and we wish him well. Our next game is next Sunday at home to St. John's at 2.30pm - please come out and support as we bid to get to the Championship Final. The club wish to express sympathy with the family and relatives of Eugene Duignan, Arigna who died at the weekend and to Siobhan Hennesy, Sooey on the death at the weekend of her brother, Dermot O'Grady, Collooney.
