4th July 2011 The Junior team drew with Drumcliffe/Rosses Point on Friday last in Oxfield on a scoreline of 013 to 110. The team was:- Nigel Hargadon (02), Conor McDonagh, Diarmuid Jinks, Niall Bennan, Shane Barry, Keith Candon (01), Kevin Barry (01), Eoin McDermott, Peter Henry (01), David Quinn (05), Declan Loughnane, Eoin OConnell, Jonathan Quinn, Enda Foley (02), Donal Carroll (0 1), subs Niall McDermott for J Quinn (inj), Enda Tuohy for N McDermott, Andrew Nealon for D Carroll, James Conlon and Donal McDermott. The senior team lost out to St Molaise Gaels in Grange on Saturday evening last. The day was a huge occasion for the home side as they were being crowned League Div 1 champions, the first Senior title for the Club - congrats to St Maloise on this great achievement. The Senior team take on Ballymote in Bunninadden next Sunday evening at 6.30PM in Round 2 of the Championship - please come out and support. The Minor team get back into action this Thursday with a home league game against Coolaney/Mullinabreena at 7.00PM. The U16 team got off to a winning start in the 'B' Championship with an away win against Ballymote last Monday. In a tight first half the Gaels went in to the break with the slender lead of two points. In the second half they upped their performance and ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of 49 to 08. The team was: Conor Carroll, John Og Conlon, Cathal McDermott, Brian Candon, Ryan McKenna, Darragh Lyons, Liam Tuohy (1-2), Eoin Carroll (1-1), Enda OConnell (0-1), Daniel Willis (1-3), Michael Kilkenny (1-2), Stephen Scanlon, Sean Quigley Sub Daniel Baker for Stephen Scanlon (inj). The U16's play St Maloise Gaels in the second round of the Championship this Monday 4th at 7.00PM in Riverstown. The U14's are at home to Calry/St Josephs in the quarter final of the 'A' Championship this Friday evening at 7.00PM. The U14's had an enjoyable day at the Connacht Blitz in Roscommon last Saturday - winning two games and drawing the third. The Girls U12's start the Championship with a home game against Ballymote this Monday 4th at 7.00PM. The U8's and U10's travel to Geevagh this Saturday 9th July for a blitz at 11.00AM.
