2nd May 2011 The Senior team advanced to the quarter finals of the Leo Kenny Cup with a 1-13 to 1-8 away win over Dromahair. The team was: David Quinn, Colin Harte, Liam O'Connell, Shane Barry, Niall Craig, Mark Tuohy, Noel Jinks, Paul Brennan, Frank Quinn (0-2), Brian Boyd, Vinnie Boyd (1-2), Brian Mc Dermott, Kevin Barry (0-3), Paddy O'Grady (0-4), Peter Henry (0-2). Subs; Eoin O'Connell for N Craig, John Craig for N Jinks, Ciaran O'Connor for B Mc Dermott, Donal Carroll for B Boyd, Sean O'Connell for C Harte. They are away to Coolera/Strandhill this Saturday at 7.00PM. Last Monday the U16's had a fine win against Ballymote in Shamrock Gaels Park. The Gaels had the better of the two teams in the first half going into the break ahead by three points. In the second half Ballymote overcame the deficit and were level with the Gaels going into the final ten minutes however the Gaels upped their game and ran out winners on a scoreline of 4-8 to 3-6. The team was: Conor Carroll, John Og Conlon, Cathal McDermott, Ryan McKenna, Brian Candon, Eoin Carroll (1-5), Liam Tuohy (2-2), Michael Kilkenny, Daniel Willis (1-0), Adrian Whelan (0-1), Stephen Scanlon. The under 14 team had a good 4-10 to 3-9 home win over Tubbercurry on Friday evening. The team was:- Steven Keegan, Declan Benson, Conor Carroll, Daniel Baker, Enda OConnell (01), Darragh Lyons, Paul Harrington, Caolan McCann, Paul Higgins (01), Cian McDermott(12), Aaron Kelly (01), Darragh Hailstones (01), Mark Kearns (12), Mark Walsh(1-0), Ciaran Kilfeather (1 2), subs Alan Kelly for D Benson, Conor McGrievy for C Carroll and Luke Flynn for A Kelly . The final score was 410 to 39. The U14 11a side team are at home to St Michaels this Wednesday at 7.00PM in Riverstown Park. The Ladies team had a good 4-7 to 1-2 home win over Ballymote on Sunday morning. The team was: Kate Mc Dermott, Samantha OGara, Edel Lyons, Meg Mullen, Siobhan Brennan, Gemma OGrady, Joanne Harrison (02) Aoife Brennan, Simone Kelly (10), Sonia McDermott (02), Catherine Tuohy (20), Fiona Baker (12), Elaine Brennan (01), subs Gillian Reape for A Brennan and Aoife Harte for Sonia McDermott. The Girls U12 team had a great (0-11) to (0-4) home win over St Maloise Gaels last Tuedsday. The team was Aoife Morrisroe, Jane Benson, Sheona Leyden, Macala McLoughlin, Jade Lyons, Louise Merrick, Mairead Tuohy, Rachel Boyd (0-1), Roisin Kearns (0-1), Sarah Walsh (0-2), Aine Brennan (0-1), Maeve McDermott (0-5), Leah Monaghan (0-1) Sub used: Aine Kearns for L Monaghan. The Club wish to express sympathy to the family and relatives of P J Linnane, Ballygawley who died last week and we also express sympathy with clubmember Eugene Carroll and the Carroll family on the death of their uncle Paddy White in Limerick.
