gave a disappointing display in the Championship against Ballymote last
weekend losing out on a scoreline of 1-15 to 0-6. The Gaels now take on Calry/St Josephs in the relegation battle on Friday evening. The Juniors are also in a relegation battle and they take on St Marys this Sunday at 12.00PM in Ballymote. The Minor team had a good away win over St Molaise Gaels on Thursday last in the Championship. They now take on Easkey in the semi-final on 18th Sept. The Gaels playing with a strong breeze led by 2-7 to 0-2 at half time. The final score was 3-9 to 1-4. The team was:- Ricky Johnston, Declan Willis, Shane Barry(0-1), Eoin O'Connell, Paul O'Grady, Gavin McMorrow, Adrian McCann, Joe Burns, Johnny Quinn (0-2), Robbie Johnston, Brian Boyd (0-2), Ciaran O'Connor (1-1), David Quinn (1-2), subs Keith Candon (1-2) for D Quinn(inj), Sean Kilfeather for S Barry(inj), Donal Carroll for C O'Connor, Kevin Coleman for J Quinn and Kieran Cawley for G McMorrow. The U13 Feile competition starts next week with the first game on Friday 3rd September at 7.00PM at home to Ballymote. The under 14 girls team were beaten by Owenmore Gaels on Tuesday evening last in Shamrock Gaels Park. The team was:- Aoife O'Connor, Eilis O'Connor, Catherine Collery, Laura Johnston, Rachel Higgins, Catherine Taylor, Ciara Brennan, Naomh Quinn (2 - 3), Joanne Johnston (0 - 1), Aisling Boyd (0 - 1), Shauna Willis, Aisling Devaney (2- 0), Sinead McGovern. On Saturday last they were defeated by Calry/St Joseph's in Calry. The Dominic Quinn U-10 Blitz took place last Saturday with four visiting teams plus two Gaels teams. Thanks to Curry, Eastern Harps, Tubbercurry and Coolera for participating in an exciting competition. Thanks also to Liam Og Gormley and Charlie Harisson for organising activities on the day, Gerry McManus and Gus Chapman for referreing and to all who provided and served the food on the day. A special word of thanks to the Quinn family for their continued sponsorship of the blitz in memory of Dominic. For the record the Gaels won the blitz for the second year running and the cup was presented to joint captains - Seamus Hailstones and Dylan Willis by Lauri Quinn on behalf of the Quinn family.
