26th July 2010

The Juniors had a good win over Drumcliffe/Rosses Point last Friday evening in the league. We got off to a great start with a goal from Kevin Barry after four minutes however we could not build on this and it was Drumcliffe that started to dominate and were on level terms on nineteen minutes. The Gaels did finish the half strongly with points from Paddy O'Grady, Eoin McDermott and a great point from Noel Jinks after a great run from deep to leave the Gaels ahead at half time on a scoreline of 1-4 to 0-5. The Gaels started the second half brightly with two points from John Craig and Enda Tuohy, however they could not stretch their lead as Drumcliffe came into the game and were within a point of the Gaels on ten minutes with three quick points. The Gaels responded well with two further points from Paddy O'Grady and veteran Duncan Ryan to maintain the Gaels lead. The Gaels then went on to finish strongly with three more points in the last ten minutes to win on a scoreline of 1-11 to 0-9.
