The Senior Team had a comfortable win over Eastern Harps in Round 4 of the league last Sunday. The Gaels raced into a three point lead in the opening five minutes with points from Joe Quinn, Derek Davey and John Paul Henry before Eastern Harps registered their first score with a
goal a minute later. The Gaels responded well with Derek Davey pointing directly from the kick out after a flowing move up the pitch. Paddy O'Grady scored two great points from tight angles to extend the Gaels lead while Joe Quinn added his second on thirteen minutes. Paddy O'Grady scored a free on nineteen minutes to go five points up. Eastern Harps had a late rally scoring three points while John Paul Henry scored an excellent long range point to leave the half time score at 0-9 to 1-3.

The Gaels started the second half strongly with three points two frees from Quinn and one from play from Davey. Eastern Harps pointed on ten minutes, however Joe Quinn was quick to respond with his fifth point from a tight angle. Both sides exchanged points mid-way
through the half with Peter Henry on target for the Gaels and in a scrappy closing quarter the Gaels extended their lead with further points from Joe Quinn and John Paul Henry to win on a scoreline of 0-16 to 1-6.

Subs: Damien Lyons for Niall Brennan, Enda Tuohy for Paddy O'Grady, James Conlon for Johnny Burke (inj).

The Seniors are away to St Molaise Gaels next Sunday at 3.30PM.

The Minor team resume their league campaign this Thursday with an away game against Owenmore Gaels at 7.00PM.

The U16 team had a good win over Eastern Harps last Monday on a scoreline of 1-7 to 0-14. The team was: Kevin Broderick, John Og Conlon, Calvin Flynn, Brian Candon, Peter Lavin, Declan Willis, Gavin McMorrow, Adrian McCann, Eoin Carroll (0-1), Kieran Cawley (0-2), Ciaran O'Connor (0-3), Ronan McTiernan (0-1), Stephen Scanlon, Dylan Edwards (0-6), Liam Tuohy (0-1). Subs: Sean Quigley for Stephen Scanlon, Aaron Cawley for Liam Tuohy.

The U16's are at home to Coolaney/Mullinabreena this Monday 19th at 7.00PM while they are away to Coolera/Strandhill next Monday 26th.

An under strength U14 team were well beaten by Enniscrone last Friday -they are at home to St Michaels this Friday at 7.00PM.

The U12 teams started their league campaign last Tuesday against St Johns. The Div 1 Team 'The Gaels' put up a great show and were leading going into the last quarter, however St Johns had a good late rally and won on a scoreline of 0-13 to 0-11. Scorers: Cathal McNulty (0-2), Cian
McDermott (0-3), Mark Collery (0-1), Mark Keegan (0-2), Luke Flynn (0-1), Seamus Hailstones (0-2). The Div 2 team 'The Shamrocks' also let things slip in the last quarter, having led by 5 at half time and lost out on a scoreline of 0-17 to 0-12.

Both U12 teams are at home to St Molaise Gaels this Tuesday at 7.00PM.

The U8 and U10's had a very successful blitz in Ballymote last Saturday - coaching continues this Saturday at 11.00AM for U6 to U-10's - boys and girls.

Best of luck to Sligo in the Div 3 final on Saturday evening.

The Club wish to express sympathy with the family and relatives of Mary Galvin, Doongeela who died recently and also the family and relatives of Kathleen Cunnane, nee Murphy and formerly of Ardvarney, Riverstown who died in England.
