The Seniors rounded off their Division 2 campaign with a one point defeat away to Easkey on Saturday evening. The Gaels were under-strength for this game, which was played in very difficult conditions. Easkey started with the assistance of a strong down-field breeze and were four points up before Kevin Barry opened the Gaels' scoring with a point on 17 minutes. The home side extended their lead on twenty minutes converting a penalty. Paddy O'Grady had the last score of the half by pointing a free for the Gaels on twenty five minutes, leaving the half-time score, Shamrock Gaels 0-2, Easkey 1-4.

Joe Quinn opened the second half scoring after three minutes with a pointed free. Easkey responded with two points, the first of them a free, however the visitors were now starting to get to grips with the conditions and Derrick Davey got on the end of a good upfield move to point on eleven minutes. Although now dominating the exchanges, the Gaels did not score again until the twenty minute mark, when Joe Quinn was again scored with a pointed free. Kevin Barry brought the Gaels right back into the game a minute later with a well taken goal and when Niall Henry swept upfield a minute later to fire over a great point it seemed that the momentum was finally swinging in the Gaels' favour. Easkey were not to be denied however and following some tense exchanges as the clock wound down they finally converted a free on 26 minutes to seal the win by the narrowest of margins. Final score, Shamrock Gaels 1-6, Easkey 1-7.

The Juniors had a point to spare over St. Farnan's in a highly entertaining Division 5 encounter at Shamrock Gaels Park on Wednesday evening. This was the proverbial 'game of two halves', with the Gaels staging a spirited second half fight-back to overcome their visitors. Mark Boyd opened the scoring for the home side with a point after a minute, however Farnan's then hit four points without reply before Duncan Ryan responded with a great point for the Gaels on thirteen minutes. Farnan's then pointed twice before Enda Tuohy pointed a free on nineteen minutes. Farnan's continued to exert their superiority with three unanswered points, however Vinny Boyd and Paddy O'Grady kept the Gaels in touch with two pointed frees in the closing stages to leave the half-time score; Shamrock Gaels 0-5, St. Farnan's 0-9.

The visitors added two further points at the beginning of the second half before the Gaels went on a scoring spree over the next eight minutes, with six unanswered points from Enda Foley, John Craig, Paddy O'Grady, Vincent Boyd (two points - one from a free) and Enda Tuohy. Farnan's then got in for a goal on fourteen minutes, totally against the run of play, however this did not deter the Gaels, who went on to hit a further five points from Paddy O'Grady, Brian Mc Dermott, Paddy O'Grady (free), Enda Foley and Joe Quinn to go two points ahead as the game entered its concluding stages. Farnan's finally pulled one back on twenty five minutes to set up a tense ending to the game. Paddy O'Grady settled the Gaels' nerves when he got on the end of a great upfield move to send over a good point. Farnan's responded with a point on 29 minutes, however it was too little too late and the Gaels held on for an excellent win on a scoreline of Shamrock Gaels 0-17, St. Farnan's 1-13.
