The Senior team kept up their good run of form with a three point away win over Drumcliff/Rosses Point. The Gaels started well with three quick points, two from Joe Quinn and one from Frank Quinn however Drumcliffe were back on level terms on ten minutes with a goal after a Gaels attack broke down. The Gaels responded well with a good individual point from Derek Davey.The Gaels again aserted their dominance with two points from frees from Joe Quinn and an excellent point from Damien Lyons after a lay off from Frank Quinn. The Gaels, however leaked another goal after a high ball was palmed into the net on twenty six minutes to leave the teams level. Drumcliffe added another point on the stroke of half time to go into the lead for the first time, This lead was short lived as Frank Quinn scored a goal into injury time after his initial shot was saved by the Drumcliffe keeper. Joe Quinn extended the Gaels lead to three points with another free deep into injury time.

In the second half the Gaels were on the back foot from the off when Drumcliffe went into the lead with a point and a third goal after a goalmouth scramble. The Gaels regained their composure and were back on level terms on ten minutes with another free from Joe Quinn while Quinn scored a great long range point on fourteen minutes to put the Gaels back into the lead. In the last quarter scores were hard to come by and in the end it was the Gaels who showed the greater determination rounding off a good performance with two late point points from Joe Quinn and Conor Mullen to win by three points on a scoreline of 3-3 to 1-12.

The Gaels are at home to Easkey next Sunday at 6.00PM in round 7.

The Juniors got their Division 5 league campaign off to a winning start with a fine seven point win over St. Pat's at Shamrock Gaels Park on Sunday. Playing with the assistance of a strong cross-field wind in the first half, the Gaels started brightly with a Mark Boyd point after two minutes, followed three minutes later with a goal from Duncan Ryan, who crashed the ball to the net following good work by Eoin Mc Dermott. Enda Foley then extended the Gaels lead with a nice point on seven minutes. St. Pat's finally got on the scoresheet on ten minutes with a pointed free, however this was to be their last score of the half as the Gaels went on a scoring spree for the rest of the half. Paddy O'Grady responded to the St. Pat's score with a great point a minute later. Vinny Boyd finished a great run from midfield with a point on seventeen minutes. Paddy O'Grady then put over a free on twenty one minutes followed by a point from Enda Tuohy. Eoin Mc Dermott got through for a great point three minutes later while Vinny Boyd added to his tally on twenty eight minutes to leave the half-time score 1-8 to 0-1 in favour of the Gaels.

St Pat's came more into the game in the second half and were off the mark after three minutes with a point before Paddy O'Grady responded with a pointed free. St. Pat's then went on to score four points without reply, two from frees and one from a '45' and a Pat's revival seemed on the cards. Vinny Boyd relieved the pressure on the Gaels with a point on twenty two minutes while Brian Mc Dermott followed this up two minutes later with another to restore the Gaels' dominance. St. Pat's pointed a free with two minutes left on the clock to leave the final score; Shamrock Gales 1-11, St. Pat's 0-7.

The Minor team had a hard fought two point win over Castleconnor in Shamrock Gaels Park on Friday evening last on a scoreline of 1-15 to 2-10. The team and scorers were:- Rickie Johnston, Shane Barry, Declan Willis, Gavin McMorrow (0-2), Sean Kilfeather, Gearoid McTiernan, Adrian McCann (0-1), Eoin O'Connell, Donal Carroll (1-2), Ciaran O'Connor (0-1), Jonathan Quinn (0-1), Robbie Johnston (0-1), David Quinn (0-5), subs used Brian Boyd (0-2) for Ciaran O'Connor, Paul O'Grady for Sean Kilfeather, Kieran Cawley for Robbie Johnston and Ronan McTiernan for David Quinn. The minor team are away to Drumcliffe/Rosses Point on Thursday week 13th May.

On Monday week last the under 16 team had a good win over Coolera/Strandhill in Ransboro Park. The Gaels dominated the game for long periods and led by 3-10 to 0-2 at half time and ran out easy winners on a scoreline of 5-14 to 1-3. The team and scorers were:- Kevin Broderick, Brian Candon, Calvin Flynn, John Óg Conlon, Peter Lavin, Declan Willis, Gavin McMorrow, Adrian McCann, Eoin Carroll (1-1), Ronan McTiernan (0-2), Ciaran O'Connor (0-3), Kieran Cawley (1-4), Dylan Edwards (1-2), Jack Gethins (1-1), Jonathan Quinn (0-1), subs Liam Tuohy, Stephen Scanlon (1 - 0), Conor Merrick, Aaron Cawley and Stephen Quigley.

The U16's play either St Mary's or St John's in the League semi-final on Monday next depending on the result in the play-off game with Tourlestrane on Monday last.

The under 14 team had a good win over St Pats in Dromard on Friday evening last but the Gaels didn't have things all their own way and Steven Keegan in goals had to pull off a number of good saves to deny St Pat's. The team and scorers were as follows:- Steven Keegan, Paul Higgins, Sean O'Grady, Conor Carroll, Caolan McCann, Caolan Morrisroe, Daniel Willis (1-2), Ryan McKenna (0-1), Marc Keegan(0-3), Michael Kilkenny(1-1), Ciaran Kilfeather (1-2), Mark Walsh(1-0), Mark Kearns (1-0), subs used Darragh Lyons and Declan Benson.

The U14's play St Farnan's on Friday next in Shamrock Gaels Park.

On Saturday evening last the Ladies team, who were missing a number of players, were beaten by Eastern Harps in Riverstown Park. The Gaels team was as follows:- Kate McDermott, Ruth Tighe, Caroline Lavin, Eimear McDermott, Siobhan Brennan, Meg Mullen, Edel Lyons, Sarah McDermott, Joanne Harrison, Aoife Harte, Aine O'Connell, Elaine Brennan, Michelle Tuohy, subs used Fiona Baker, Deirdre Benson, Aoife Brennan, Emma Orr and Sonia McDermott. They are away to Calry/St Joseph's on Sunday morning next.

The U12's take on Tubbercurry this Tuesday in Round 3.

The U12 Girls had their first outing last Friday against St Michaels which they lost. The team was: Aine Burns, Sheona Leyden, Eillis O'Connor, Aoife Morrisroe, Chloe Merrick, Ailsih Benson, Sarah Markham, Joanne Johnston, Sinead McGovern, Sarah Walsh, Roisin Kearns, Rachel Boyd, Mairead Tuohy, Subs: Maeve McDermott, Kate Buckley, Jane Benson. They are at home to St Farnans this Friday evening at 7.00PM.

The U8 and U10's have an enjoyable blitz last Saturday with Tourlestrane - coaching continues this Saturday morning at 11.00AM.
