The Senior team had a comfortable win over Easkey in the second round of the Kiernan Cup last Saturday. The final score was 2-14 to 0-7 and the team was:- Donal Tuohy, Liam O'Connell, James Lyons, Niall Craig, Michael Hannon (0-1), Paul Brennan, Colin Harte (0-1), Eoin McDermott, Philip Murphy (0-1), J P Henry (0-4), Jarlath Lyons (0-1), Keith McMorrow (0-2), Joe Quinn(1-3), Glen McDermott (1-1), Derek Davey, subs used Niall Brennan for Colin Harte, Mark Boyd for Derek Davey, John Craig for Donal Tuohy, Patrick O'Grady for Philip Murphy and Brian McDermott for Liam O'Connell.

The Gaels now take on Castleconnor on the weekend of 13/14th March in the final group game.

The minor team had a hard fought win over Geevagh in the league last Sunday morning. The Gaels got off to a great start with the forwards playing extremely well and clocking up 1-3 in the opening ten minutes, the goal coming from David Quinn. Geevagh then started to gain control around the middle of the field and got back into the game scoring 2-1 to level the game on twenty two minutes. Geevagh then added two more points to lead at half time on a scoreline of 2-4 to 1-5. The Gaels started the second half brightly and were level within five minutes with points from Ciarain O'Connor and Eoin O'Connell. Geevagh responded with a point before Ciarain O'Connor got in for a goal on twelve minutes to put the Gaels two points up. The Gaels were then in control of the game and O'Connor got his second goal on eighteen minutes to extend the Gaels lead. Declan Willis scored a good point from distance on twenty minutes and this was followed by points from frees from Donal Carroll and David Quinn to put the Gaels comfortably eight points ahead going into the last five minutes. Geevagh did have a late rally reducing the deficit to six, however the Gaels went on to win on a scoreline of 3-11 to 2-8.

The minor team are at home to Tourlestrane next Sunday morning at 11.00AM.

The U16 team play their first game on Sunday 14th March at home against Tourlestrane.

Bord Ná Nóg will be holding a registration evening for all underage players this Saturday evening 6th March from 6.00PM to 7.30PM in the Clubhouse - registration is €10 per player or €20 per family.

The 2010 Dinner Dance takes place in Castledargan on Saturday 20th March. Tickets at €30 now available from Mary Quinn 086 3757626, Cormac Kearns 087 2358840, Josephine Leyden 086 8366558 or any committee member.

The underage player of the year awards take place in the Folk Park on Saturday 27th March at 8.30PM.

The club would like to express sympathy with Bridie Sweeney, Whitehill on the death in London of her sister Kit Flaherty (nee Banks) formerly of Ballintogher.
